Four & Five announces that Ahmed Tayane joins the firm as partner per 1 August 2023. With Ahmed’s arrival, Four & Five strengthens its litigation practice. Ahmed will head and expand the litigation department.
Ahmed’s appointment is the next logical step in the growth of Four & Five. Litigation and disputes are an inevitable part of a company’s life cycle, and Four & Five helps its clients to address these challenges. “We felt a need and witnessed increasing demands for assistance of our clients in this area of the law. I have known Ahmed for many years, and I am convinced that he – together with his team – will be able to service our clients and address their needs”, says managing partner Anneleen Vander Elstraeten.
2 + 2 = 5
At Four & Five, all our departments work closely together: each case goes through a 360° analysis process. This allows us to serve and assist our clients to the best of our abilities. The litigation department plays a crucial role in this analysis. We advise and assist our clients in managing legal risks, identify potential legal hazards and proactively take steps to prevent or contain issues. If a client is confronted with a legal dispute, then our litigation department protects the interests of the client (outside the courtroom if possible, in front of a judge if necessary).
Who is Ahmed Tayane?
“I am known to be a go-getter, someone who is determined and goes great lengths for our clients.” As of 2009, Ahmed was a registered lawyer at the Brussels Bar. He was a Senior Associate at Loyens & Loeff’s Litigation and Risk Management department. For 10 years he advised and defended multinationals and SMEs in legal and arbitrage proceedings. He was also a teaching assistant in insolvency law at KU Leuven.
In 2019 he was appointed General Counsel and director of a London investment and asset management firm, holding GBP 6 billion in European real estate (residential, commercial and hospitality). He was responsible for structuring the investments, and the negotiations with equity and debt providers, and the sellers.
As per 1 August 2023 thus Ahmed returns to the Bar in Antwerp. “Successfully closing a transaction gives me an enormous kick, but nothing beats the feeling of winning a case in court for a client.” Together with his team, specialised in corporate, M&A and commercial litigation, Ahmed assists clients in advance of, during and after proceedings.
